Hey everyone. I welcome you and hope you find something of interest here on this Canada Kicks special event and project site, celebrating the World Cup and Canada’s appearance as a qualifying country and co-host along with Mexico and the USA.
I have learned a lot and I’m excited to share with you. Please leave a comment if you have a share or find something interesting. Or leave your thoughts about the World Cup. 🍁 Canadian teachers will be prioritized (please use your work email). 😊

Along the way, while creating this mini site I learned:
- Team Canada MNT (Men’s National Team) has played in two previous World Cups! (Can you name them?)
- Canada has had a meteoric rise over about ten years from more than 100th place to currently sitting about 35th in FIFA world rankings. Read more!
- Soccer is a legitimate word despite grumblings from some – it was invented by the English who are also the inventors of the sport! Watch the video.
- In addition to Alphonso Davies there are many talented players to cheer for! We have a roster full of world-class athletes
- Controversies include the banning of the participation of a Somali referee. Watch the video.
